About the Doll Dungeon

OUR STORY – AND SO IT BEGINS…

I began collecting dolls as a sort of a hobby back in 2017. I picked up a few here and there, not with the intention to display them, but to morph them out into creepy little specimens! After a few months, those dolls started to pile up, right in time for Halloween. Taking advantage of the holiday, I began hiding dolls in every corner of my house and yard possible, just in time for our guests’ delight at a Halloween party. Pictures were taken and posted, and more dolls were purchased for later use.

THEN, THE DOLLS STARTED COMING IN…

The next thing you know, friends and family were calling me up, “I have some dolls for you!” Never passing on a freebie, I accepted them… MANY of them… painting them, dismembering them, morphing them to the point where people began to call me the “Creepy Doll Lady”.

More and more, the dolls started arriving, but I started to notice that many of them were a bit too cute or perhaps even valuable to be mucked up with paint and epoxy, so I began to assist people in re-homing their dolls – with a catch… “if they don’t sell, I get to paint them!”

REHOMING BEFORE RECYCLING…

What originally began as an elaborate Halloween decoration, the Doll Dungeon has now developed into a full blown half-way house for dolls that are unwanted by their original owners and are currently available for purchase via this website, as well as on eBay and Etsy. Dolls are sourced from various avenues, the majority being estate sales. (Or… from random strangers who heard about creepy doll lady)

A large part of our current inventory is consignment based, consisting of items that other people have acquired and entrusted us to offload for them at current market and collectible prices. The remainder of the stock is from my own personal stash.

BUT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ONES THAT DON’T GET SOLD?

Once a doll has sat unsold for a period of time, we will “recycle” it and it becomes known as “dead-stock”. From there, the doll will undergo a transition into its new “life”, eventually becoming one of our Dead Dollies and become available for adoption through this website or our Etsy Store. Every doll modification is posted with a before and after picture, so you can see their transformation and know their backstory.

SO KEEP IN MIND WHILE YOU ARE BROWSING OUR STORE, THAT AT ANY GIVEN DAY THE LITTLE DARLING YOU ARE EYEING MAY END UP LOSING ITS EYEBALLS AND TURNING INTO A RESURRECTED PIECE OF ART!
